ALIA CARITA TOMPKINS is a writer/director based in Los Angeles. She earned her BFA in Film & Television Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Alia most recently assisted director Padraic McKinley on feature film, THE WEIGHT (Sundance, Berlinale) starring Ethan Hawke. She has supported several writers rooms for Amazon Studios, and participated in the Kino Guarimba Film Residency in Southern Italy. Her recent short films ORANGE BLOSSOM and MAMA’S FATTEH screened at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Cannes SFC, Female Filmmakers Festival Berlin & more. She’s currently in post on her next short film and is writing her first feature.
